The Attempt at Going Bi-Weekly/"Oi!, I'm Late!"

Well, one of my several secret new year's resolutions is to have a bit more structure with this blog, not that it was interesting anyway... *ahem* but what I was thinking about was that I try and update this regularly, not just whenever I feel like it. So now I'm going to try and do a post every Saturday and Wednesday night, if possible. If I don't make it, I have that "Super Special Secret List of Possible Filler Post Titles" that you may have noticed by now to fall back on. And now, the actual post.

People that know understand me realise that I'm not the kind of person that would slip in a word edgeways about something completely irrelevant. Especially with some people we have in our family. Now I'm not naming names, and I will reassure anyone reading this that this does not happen all the time. But has anyone actually felt that frustration when you're listening nicely to some light dinner conversation with your visiting Grandparents, or something... and then you want to come along and make a point, but then you're waiting for a long enough pause, maybe when everyone's having a sip of [insert alcoholic beverage here]... but then someone else comes along and changes the subject? Now usually I can let this go, but the problem is that in some particular circumstances I want to make a point, but at this stage it has become 'conversationally awkward' to move back to a previous subject. So I leave it. But it gets annoying when it happens again. And again. And again. Has this ever happened to you? I'd like to hear from my reader(s).

And another thing... and I'm sure other people can agree with me on this one; I find it frustrating that I'm trying to excuse myself but I generally have the instinct to let them finish. Like this afternoon. I could've said "Look, I'm going to miss the train, I'll re-iron my shirts when I get to Grandma's.", and then not missed the train, but I guess next time I'll do a better job in the first place.
Or even in the workforce. Like, I could say "Hey, I need to start walking now, or I'm going to miss the train.", but I certainly not going to butt in a conversation my boss is having, am I? It's fine anyway since I usually always have a transportation back-up plan, and so I just caught the next train 30 minutes later.

So.. apart from that rant, I'm at my Grandma's for a couple of days while the public train timetable begins to recover from the holidays, because otherwise I can't get to work on time from home. It's nice, and I'm sure many of you reading this have at one stage appreciated the time you spend at a relative's house; and the amount of attention and care you receive. Especially Grandparent's, since you really only get your youth to enjoy it. Think about that.
