A Slightly Stronger Grasp on Life

Life is regular right now. Nothing much to talk about, although I guess a few events here and there have opened up another level of thinking.

So I had my Grandma visit on Saturday, which is nice because apart from talking on Skype it's nice to catch up in person every fortnight. I will however add that there was an event that afternoon that I am thankful for - unfortunately my Grandma got lost on the way out of campus, and after a few lost minutes navigating, found her way back onto the main road. Although she had forgotten her jacket, so she quickly sent me a text, but a police came up behind her new Mitsubishi and pulled her over, but not for the phone, there had been an accident a few minutes earlier up ahead; a car had misjudged the turn and all that was left was an overturned car completely off the road. Just think, if she had never got lost, who knows what would have happened. I must say I was very thankful for that.

And I guess it's never occured to me how much we assume things aren't going to happen. Because right now I'm living as if life would go on forever, which I guess is probable considering my age. But that's optimism, right?

And it's the end of my fifth week at university now, and I'm starting to get that feeling where the people down my end of the hallway aren't quite the right people that I would like to be socialising with. Or anyone in Egmont Court for that matter - allegedly last night a group of them (possibly drunk) managed to block the main exit with the four recycle bins, take someone's bike (which was mysteriously unlocked) and strategically place it on top of the vending machine outside, as well as manage to move the bike rack outside enough to buckle everyone's front and back wheels slightly. So now I have no idea whether my bicycle is rideable, since the wheels seem to wobble slightly when rotated. But we'll go and see the security office tomorrow. And by we I mean someone else, since I don't actually know when.

This incident has kind of got me thinking about why I should be here. In the last week or so these 'hallmates' of mine have managed to stick enough profanities and miscellania around the hall to give an over-protecitve mother something to worry about, including smearing some unknown, jelly-like substance over everyone's door handles. I can't put up with this for much longer. So much for fitting in, it's like a toned down version of Year 9 all over again. Just watch the video link already!

The Weekend Watch
Another stop-motion video tops the tables this week, this time involving over 200 t-shirts.

Coming Wednesday! The 50th Post! About... YOU! (Or not, depending if you're only just starting to read this.)
