Current Status: Exhausted, But Happy

I started work yesterday. It was very hard to create the illusion that I knew everything, so I turned apologetic and said "sorry" to everyone at least half a dozen times throughout the day. Here's how it went down.
Getting up at 6:30 is a relatively new experience for me. During the holidays I'm used to a 11am-1am 'day', but I guess if I'm starting work I'll need to go to sleep earlier.
I got a ride to the station, since Dad leaves home at 7:30 to get to Waikanae on time, so that's all good. At the station, I buy a 10-trip ticket. Handy things, those. They don't expire, and they're great for frequent riders. At this stage I'm starting to bore myself so I'll press on.
So I get to work at 8:30, introduce myself to the manager, and he gets me set up with a login for the system, shows me how to make a transaction, etc., I go around the store floor figuring out where everything is, and a few minutes later we have a meeting about all the current promotions and that, and get introduced to two other managers, and a co-worker, Andrew.
At this stage I'm thinking "Great, I'm the new guy, and today I'm probably gonna look like an absolute pillock trying to do things as if I'm trying to fit a circular peg into a square hole.", but no, it turns out that Andrew is relatively new as well, so I guess we're at about the same level of experience.
The work that day was great, though. I got to help out a large bunch of customers, with all sorts of gizmos and gadgets that I know about. Plus I get commission! I did not know that! This job just keeps getting better! I get a day off today, which is great since I had sore feet and a headache when I got home at 8, and fell asleep 2 hours later after watching a DVD of The Vicar of Dibley (our Freeview Box is being fixed, currently 2 weeks without TV, arrrrrrrgggghhhh!), to wake up 13 hours later.

One thing I am greatful for, is that there are so many people that come in to the store and are so understanding and patient to the fact that I am new, and that I seem to call on my manager Scotty more times than someone would call normal for help.
