50 Posts - Where Are They Now?

Drum roll please!
Ladies and gentlemen... I give you... post number fifty! Starring... YOU!
An additional welcome if you got here by googling yourself. I know I do sometimes...

Here's a retrospective: it's been six months since I started this blog (as you may or may not have guessed). I'm out of college and well into univeristy now, but this time instead about talking about me, I've decided to shift focus onto everyone that has commented, or has been mentioned on this blog.

This'll be kinda like some strange, "This is your life" concept. But I digress.

Let's go back to the roots of this blog. It all started one fateful September night, where a teenager getting pestered about not having a facebook account had a headache and started a blog. Right... not the best introduction to something epic, so we'll drop the concept and skip ahead to people.

The first mention was in post #2. And it wasn't even a person. Pusspuss, our family's adopted (and by adopted, I mean it adopted us) cat is still alive and well, and presumably eating as much as before. Over the last month it been trained to not go on top of the stove top. Results are pending.

Post #5: My two sisters, Hannah and Josephine. Hannah, now in her senior years at college, has a part-time job at a jewellers, and is currently saving up for her French class field trip to France later this year.
As for Josephine, she's in her final year at primary school, and still wont turn down rice for dinner (people that read last wednesday's comic will be understand that). With a career path uncertain, we can simply hope for the best. Although her athletic skills are amazing.

Post #6: My Granddad. Living in a motorhome with my Grandma wouldn't be too bad actually. They are currently residing in the Bay of Plenty helping out with this season's kiwifruit picking, and are all over the place visiting family and friends.

Also in this post was the first comment of my Dad's girlfriend, Jennie Scotcher. Nice to know someone s/hand dev. joke. Jennie is still with our family, helping out with the selling of our house, and working at and away from home, doing some killer editing work. She has a nose for local news too - plus the PR work for our college's gym is just another piece of experience added to her long resume. A great lexicon, too. Eventually we'll be setting up a kitset home somewhere around Kapiti and moving the whole family in, just as soon as the past life is sorted.

Post #7: While playing "comedy cricket", we got to meet the rest of the immediate family, like my Dad; currently taking up an extramural art course at the local polytechnic, the portraiture ability is going through the roof. And it could help with the cake decorating, if he wants to pursue that. But apart from trying to sell the house, also works at a bakery cafe up the coast.

And Jennie's kids, Katie and Finn. Both attending primary school, they shift between their separated mother and father constantly, however still enjoying the company of both (or at least one of them, guess which one) families. For for information, consult the post and guess who is who.

Post #8: My friend, Luke Bravenboer - Currently staying at home, he's taking up a software engineering degree at Victoria University with some Spanish thrown in. Hopefully I can catch up over the Easter break, as a matter of fact I'm even sure if he knows about this blog yet... uh... surprise?

Post #10: My friend in chemistry, a.k.a. Kyle McNeill. The rising improv talent himself, after leaving the life of theatresports presumably behind at college, he's down in Otago studying to become a dentist. And allegedly has a shrub taken from the nearby gardens on hsi windowsill. But that was a rumour. Fill me in man, you're one of the top commentors around here!

Post #11: My 6th Japanese teacher, Mr. Paul Roberts. Hailing from the Bay of Plenty, Mr. Roberts got me through the Year 13 curriculum with ease, I'll have to say his methods were a lot more interesting. Plus spinning the odd story of "What not to do", plus numerous other students making suggestive/violent comments made it the most comical year to be learning a language. Although I did do okay, I guess I could have concentrated a bit more. He currently teaches economics as well, and will be leading the senior class Japan trip sometime this year.

Post #12: Cody Packer - Kapiti Coast Civic Award winner in 2009, Cody has managed to grab a spot in Broadcasting College in Christchurch. Not much else is known about what he is currently studying, but is assumed to be engrossed into making people laugh as much as ever.

Post #13: Hannah's friend-that-is-a-boy - Please. As if I'd know anything about him.

Post #15: Trevor Brannan is another classmate from Chemistry class, and is also friends with Kyle. When we weren't focused on Chemistry (which was sometimes the whole lesson), we would come up with ideas for skits for the hypothetical Kyle McNeill show, or play Survivor: Chemistry (which was a skit in itself). He actually started reading the blog earlier, and later posted a comment on this post weeks after it got published. I don't actually know where he is now, maybe he could fill me in? Wink wink nudge nudge?

Post #19: My Japanese friend, Naoto Okamoto. Currently residing in Yamaguchi, Naoto will be studying Accounting at a university in Hyogo next month. Haven't heard from him recently, actually. Need to get round to emailing him...

Post #20: Now this was interesting. Firstly, my German friend, Moritz Breyer. Currently in high school in Germany, he is most probably in some small village as part of a youth group. Studying a wide variety of subjects at scope beyond any New Zealand student, he'll be attending univeristy next year.
Plus, the first celebrity to comment! How many blogs get a celeb stumbling by within the first 20 posts? And since he commented, it's definitely worth a mention!
James Bachman, co-writer and actor for That Mitchell and Webb Look who celebrated his birthday a month ago, currently stars in children's sketch show, Sorry, I've Got No Head.
Notable acheivements include being voted 'brilliant' by our resident comedic expert, Kyle McNeill.
Since I'm positive that I don't know his current whereabouts or what he'll be doing in the next few years (which probably beats everyone else mentioned here big time), we'll just leave the info at that. Sorry to summon bother you. (Pssst, Kyle! Now's the time to pitch those skits we were talking about!)

Post #21: My former co-worker, Andrew... what was the surname again? Presumed to still be working at Harvey Norman, Andrew is a school leaver like myself that wishes to pursue becoming a royal palace guard, from all his battle re-enactment experience. From what I can remember, he'll be jetting off midway through this year.

Post #22: My Grandma - not the one mentioned earlier, this one is my Mum's side Grandma. Currently residing in Mana, Nana Jean comes to visit every fortnight, and we frequently stay in touch via skype. Plus she has a fond liking of a specific online game community, and we both play and chat some nights.

Post #32: My former principal, Mr. Tony Kane - took up the position from deputy principal only a few years ago, and is running the college quite nicely. He likes to get to know many of the students across campus, and is one of the most fun-loving principals I've seen (mind you, I haven't had that many). Still currently principal, I'll be sending him a letter shortly.

Post #47: David Chivers - originally dabbling in avaition back in college, David is another friend of mine who was in many of my classes back in Pram. He's currently taking up an engineering degree, and since two of the papers he's doing now I did last year, I sometimes offer a hand (although I prefer not helping with Calculus, I have to read the course material again before attempting anything!).

So that's everyone mentioned in the last 50 posts. That's a lot of people, actually. And now, to make the post even longer, here's the next episode of my... comic? Am I a webcomic now? I... I don't know what to say... I-I'd like to thank the academy...

And to quickly sum up the recent news, I've bought some glasses. So next time you see me you may not recognise me! I still haven't figured out if that's good or not... and we lost volleyball again. Guess that first win was a fluke...

But for now, I've done too much typing today, so expect the posts to return to normal on Sunday.

The Wednesday Website - Special
Here's a list of all my stumbles so far - in alphabetical order!

See you Sunday!

I only said it was a village where i went with the youth group, but when i acutally came there i realised that the "village", with an own "you enter..." sign, IS made up of two houses where youth groups can stay. Don't ask me why they even have a name for something like that. I can still say though, that it was the tiniest village in Germany.
