So in between watching videos of Where In The World Is Carmen Sandeigo? on YouTube and actually studying, I've realised that I'm due for another blog post. So here goes...Wednesdays for me are greatly relished as the day when I have no lectures on the weekend. Today though I had other things to do; a meeting, an appointment, two loads of washing, a deadline... it also comes to no surprise that I ended up accidentally wasting the afternoon again by going on the internet. In fact, I've only just rescued my douvet cover from the dryer.
Plus anyone that's subscribed to UniBuzz will be surprised to know I am actually not the youngest person on campus. Whether that's a good or bad thing seems uncertain.
Luckily my first lecture tomorrow is at 10, so I can catch up with some Japanese related study tonight, which in actual fact wouldn't be too bad since that's what happened last night.
My meeting: I'm thinking about joining up to AIESEC, an international student organisation that only came to Massey University within the last 3 years. Thought that leadership development would be a good idea. And that's not just the free pizza for lunch talking.
Next, for something slightly depressing, I have a slightly high blood pressure reading and need to see an optometrist. So the next time I see my buddies from other univeristies I'll hopefully be in better shape and be wearing glasses (or contacts, or neither, depending on how that pans out).
Washing. Oh goodness. The washers and dryers are only just down the hall, and I still don't get the washing out until several hours after it's finished, and someone else has already taken the load out and stuck it on top. Slightly embarrasing actually, so I'll need to work on getting there a bit quicker.
Handed in what I now know to be the incorrect solution to this week's crossword, still no harm done, but now the editors at CHAFF will see the note I wrote, saying that it took three newspapers to get the answers down without a mistake. And I still got it wrong. Or maybe they'll just glaze over it and spot the drawing and give me partial credit. Who knows...
And attending online Japanese tutorials is put on haitus as the website doesn't let me access the voice discussion. Luckily they have a mail-order technical support crew not on hand, so any bets on when I'll get a reply? 24 hours? 48 hours? 9 Eons?
Anyway, got some stuff to do for now (plus I'm really thirsty!) so sit back and enjoy the mid-week website!
The Mid-Week Website (What Else?)
This week we take a trip down "The avenue where you find websites that are completely pointless but I'm going to tell you about them anyway because you might get a few minutes out of them", and I give you Lost In Translation. No, not the movie, this website takes a simple sentence, and using internet translation services and translates your sentence back and forth between different languages to produce something that is utterly incomprehensible, and possibly humourous. Give it a go here.
That's me for tonight, but be sure to swing by at 8PM on Sunday and catch the special post "What I Could've Amounted To". I can assure you there'll be something there you wouldn't expect from an academic like myself...

Do ya miss me?!
To some degree, yes.
It's been a while since we last discussed a Kyle/Trevor/Sam (with minimal input from Louis) skit, or the latest H*R toon. Speaking of, it's been 4 months and still no new toon!
How are you reading this?
