Multitasking is The New Black

Happy Mondayitis to everybody!
I must admit going to sleep earlier last night was great - I actually woke up when my alarm went off!
Today's post features a story about our groups' Statistics assignment. Not much else happened during the weekend so that's all you'll be seeing today. Ooh! But let's not forget the weekly video!

So, about three weeks ago we got our second project task uploaded to our school's website, and after quickly scrolling over it is dismissing it for the time being since we had a Statistics mid-term later that night, it was only last week that we really took things into consideration.

The latter half of the project revolved around counting cars as they drove through a traffic light-controlled intersection for 20 phases. On Thursday our little group of three took the bus down to an intersection that we had already specially chose for the task, and proceeded trying to make sense of the pattern. It didn't help that we were all situated on the same corner, so the other two went to opposite corners and started giving me hand signals, which I quickly jotted down in my notebook. We had the odd passer-by asking us what the heck we were doing, but there's not much of a story in there. Anyway, we decided that on Saturday we would meet up again (one of us would bring a friend that would count a fourth street).

Me and the friend that lives on campus took the bus in and I text the third person in our group on the way there. However, the third person in our group was actually in the University Library studying physiocs with her friend. Luckily the day wasn't a complete loss, but it did seem awkward going shopping with my friend and his grilfriend.

We tried again on Sunday, but this time the roles got reversed; so this time we had me and the other group member with her friend while the other one slept in. Since the project was due on Friday we decided to stick it and do the survey anyway, with me doing the tallying for two streets instead of one. It was easier than I thought, actually; although the real challenge was trying to do it while talking to a pedestrian about what was happening, or while replying to the other group member who text me to say he was sorry that he slept in.

But in short that was the limit on how hectic things got in the weekend; nothing terribly special but I thought I might share this anyway.

The (Late) Weekend Watch
If only all infomericals were this entertaining.
