What Not To Do At University, Volume 3

It's back! The guide that I should've read before I got here... no seriously, since everything in here has happened to me in some way or another over the last few months. And so the awkwardness continues...

Rule 13 - The grass in Palmerston North does not retain water
It's rained quite a bit over here recently... and with the vast array of grassy patches dotted around campus it is certainly a surefire shortcut to getting to class on time. The only time the exact opposite happens is when the tiniest amount of water gets applied to said patches, and it instantly becomes some sort of non-traction fliud-like surface that depreciates the value of your shoes in a matter of seconds.

Rule 14 - Don't try having a shower at any time between 8-10 p.m.
Namely because there tends to be no vacancy, or the possibility that only one cubicle is being used and you can hear both a male and female voice while enough steam from 20+ minutes of shower use is being emitted from underneath the door. I'll let you put the rest of the picture together.

Rule 14.1 - ...Or the bathroom, in general
As above.

Rule 15 - On student nights, try not to be outside your room after 1 a.m.
...Not unless you want to try making conversation with a bunch of drunk (and possibly amnesic) students in the hallway.

Rule 16 - Allow at least 5 minutes to walk to the bus stop
This happened to me today, actually... luckily the next bus stop isn't too far, and apparently you can beat the bus there. As long as you run, of course. The sound of breathmints shaking around in a container in your bag is completely optional.

Rule 17 - The Massey Dining Hall 6 Second Rule
Otherwise known as the maximum amount of time it should take to decide on your dinner choice.

So that sums up the last few months.

I have that RA application I've been talking so much about tomorrow... hoping that goes ok. Following that, we have something called the "active selection day" on Sunday afternoon, where we must apparently do some practical training type stuff, possibly? I dunno, I'll get back to you about that.

And exam season begins in just over 4 weeks! Yikes, the second semester's almost over!

In sports... following the cancellation of volleyball last week, this week we also walked straight back from the rec centre, after finding out that our game happened earlier than we expected. So our team still hasn't won a single set.

And a special thank you goes out to themaster form the 2K Games forums, for making a sprite of me as a Pokemon game character! Also thanks to Kyle for setting it up!

For now, I have assignment-related business to take care of... so hopefully the next few days smooth over well.
