2011: Year of the Flooded Rabbits

If 2010 was earthquakes, I'd hate to think what's happening next January...

So yet again I miss the mark for getting another blog post down on time.

And now the news.

The flooding in Queensland has been splashed across the media recently... all the devastation that can happen in 7 days, huh? It's mind-boggling.
In the meantime the rainy weather and that has reached our corner of the globe, although today was rather humid so as soon as the intermittent showers stopped we had to reopen the doors and windows again.

I've now been assigned a hall for next year... it's essentially the hall my friend was in last year, so I practically know my way around already. And it's alcohol-free too, so there's a plus.

In sports, upon arrival of my Mii from my friend's Wii, I have now set records in Wakeboarding, Frisbee, Archery, Bowling, Basketball, Canoeing and Cycling (because I'm such a great septathlete!).

And I've been following along the MIT Mystery Hunt this year, too. The curious theme of Mario, Peach, and Glados from Portal made an interesting combination, but of course eyes were on the dozens of mind-boggling puzzles released each and every year by the event organisers, who were last year's winners.

It's now only a feeble week until I'm back on campus again... but making sure I don't get distracted and actually do the things I wanted to do these holidays is now completely out the window... just getting three out of eight is proving difficult.
I've finished my jobs for now - but there's still the chance to return between semesters, of course.

The Last Bits
This week's website is the MIT Puzzlehunt archives. Fancy yourself a puzzle solver? Not until you've solved one of the devilishly dfficult puzzles the guys in Boston come up with.

And yes, the award video is coming...
