And So, the Search Begins

I have always been rather average at sports. I have never been the fastest, most skilled, or most hand-eye co-ordinated person in my class. Never knew if that was a good thing, I guess in some respect being that person gave people more of a reason to be impressed when something did go right.

That was primary school and the junior years of college for you. Here at university you need to pay around $150 to enter a team into the social sports leagues. Which apparently is the step below playing for an actual club, or so I've been told.

On a similar note, it's never a good feeling to feel inadequate at something you like doing. For someone interested at game programming, you'd think I'd be able to tackle a programming lab (which is worth around 2% of my final mark). Well, apparently I can't, but mind you neither can most of the class. Which presents the question, "Am I in the right profession?". It's a crushing blow for now, but I hope it gets smoothed out soon.

The usual April 1st shenanigans the other day... I guess after several years the ol' something-on-a-doorknob and tieing two doorknobs together gets a little dreary... but hey, someone up in Moginie had the original idea to get a couple of sheep into an opposing hall. Much better than previous years, so I've been told...

The Last Word
This week's website is another word game in continuation from the other week; anyone heard of Mad Gab? The aim of the game is to decipher whatever the other person is trying to say, whether it be a person, movie, song, whatever... the twist? It's represented as some pile of gibberish and when sounding the words you'll need to think like someone trying to learn English. Hilarious at times and you'll be getting clues in no time once you get the hang of it.

And when you think about Air New Zealand, you may or may not think about their multiple crazy safety videos they've been producing in the last couple of years. This week's video is their most recent celebrity bonanza, featuring cameos from not only kiwis like Paul Henry, Temepara George and Phil Keoghan, but also Richard Simmons, for some reason.
