The Definition of Failure, Part 2

...And we're back!

In this issue: All the stuff I missed talking about last time. And possibly more dependant on how much I go off topic.

Previously on Current Status: Untitled...

Up Next: Paintball, website drama, more assignments, birthdays, censorship, the weekly picks and more! But first...

And now, CSU2.0.

So in the weekend just been McHardy Hall had another hall event, this time around two dozen of us jammed into two vanfuls of students and travelled just outside of Palmerston North, to take part in tough guys' laser tag, a.k.a. paintball. Not that there's anything wrong with laser tag... I had a few good memories from Laser Force on Courtney Place; not there anymore which is a shame...

Anyway it was the first time I went and I think I genuinely enjoyed it. Admittedly I was playing more of a defensive role so probably didn't experience it to the fullest but that can be saved for later times. It terms of "Did anything happen?", I can sum that up with a Facebook status update, and I quote...
Louis Gutry
‎...can cross off "Paintball" on the "Things I haven't done" list. Also, "Getting shot in the back of the head".
Let me explain that... in the second game one of the residents in the other team managed to make his way up the side unnoticed and shot the three of us in defensive mode from behind. And got me in the back of the head. Luckily the helmet strap took some of the hit, but man... did that ever hurt for a while!
In the third game I managed to hit someone (for the first and only time that day), and afterwards it turned out it was the same person! Which is good... because I probably would have scorned the moment for ages... just like I haven't forgotten about the time I went into Wellington for that diamond ring treasure hunt and we thought too much... I can never look at Midlands Park and Stout Street the same way again.

And does everyone remember that website I was doing for Radio Control a while back? No? Oh well. Anyway, I have an update on that. Actually... that Facebook quote thing worked well the first time, so here it is again.
MUSA has a new website. Which means the one I did for Radio Control never got used. :( I admit the one they've used is a lot better.
Perhaps I shouldn't have met up with the manager to comment on progress as often as once a week, as even he left campus 6 weeks ago.
But they better be happy with the free advertising I'm giving them right now.
So... yeah, that was a failed expedition. But informative! And to some extent I learnt a few things I wouldn't have otherwise picked up.

I think I may have stressed too much about assignments. Skipping...

Birthdays! Ah, yes. Katie's birthday was last Saturday, and Jennie's is this weekend. And I remembered this week! And I have a present!

Censorship: Actually, I'm saving this for later. Instead...

25 Goals in 400 Hours
Yeah so I think I'm about two weeks late on this... but in short I didn't finish. So I'm taking advice that next time I don't aim so high. As for what was left on the list... well chances are you'll see them on the next one.
[END]

Ok this post is getting a bit choppy... like the weather 'round here right now. Gosh, it is brisk. The trees scratching on the windows are not nice either. So here's the wrapup.

The Last Word
Due to me running out of internet (again), instead of a video I have quite possibly the next best thing... another chapter from that novel I'm probably never going to publish at this rate. But here's Chapter 3.

And we of course need a website to finish on... but the lack of broadband has somewhat hindered my attempts to find something interesting.

Well, that failed. Expect something better next week. Actually, I say that a lot. Don't expect anything good, and then you'll be reasonably surprised.

[EDIT 22/05/11] Wow, that actually did fail... again I missed the "publish button" and hit "save as draft". Oh well, enjoy this and this week's actual post.
