So far in my last 14-ish years of education I've been living in the same house, walked/cycled/got driven the same direction to school/college, learnt/built on the same subjects, and now it's all getting changed. Starting tomorrow I'll be in my own room, and be 'forced' to live on my own, make my way to places that I haven't even located yet, and ultimately look after myself. Sure, right now it sounds like a nightmare, but hopefully in a few weeks I'll have adjusted, so be sure to listen out for when that happens. 'Cause it probably won't be soon. But we'll see.
The next problem is the possibiliy of getting a job up in Palmerston North. With a bit of experience now I guess that would be easy right? But figuring out how I'm gonna get there Saturdays, let alone being able to walk in there and even ask for a job will be the tricky part. I'll keep you posted on that, too.
Next issue: Time. Sure, I've got a few breaks in my timetable because of my extramural course, but if you knew me I'm prone to distraction and the only thing concerning me is if I'll even have enough time in the weekend to catch up with work if I get a job on Saturday.
Surely all these assumptions won't be true, University life won't be that bad, but I haven't exactly had anyone to talk to that has lived on campus as a first-year student to talk to and ask about campus survival. But for now I'll end this post short and tell you how wonderful everything went on Wednesday.
